An Update and My First Number

My leg is SLOWLY recovering. I have been able to run, but ony for short distances of about 1.5 miles since I hurt myself several weeks ago. It is feeling better though so I think that resting was the key to healing.

I was super excited to get my race packet for the Women’s Only 5K on Saturday. In the packet I got a nice t-shirt, some information and MY VERY FIRST NUMBER!! I was so excited I wanted to put it on and wear it around the house.

My first race is scheduled for this Saturday. It’s a 5K called the Retro Run. Everyone wears fun outfits, drink a beer afterwards and listen to some music. I’m still up in the air about running on Saturday. I guess we’ll see how my leg is feeling as the week progresses and see if I can run farther than 1.5 miles this week during practice. If nothing else I could run/walk it I guess. I really want to complete it. We’ll see.

Now I just need to figure out what costume I want to wear….any suggestions?

Head over to goodwill, its halloween season! You can pick up something cheap and ‘throw-away-able’ afterward (if you don’t want to keep it anyway)!
