My Furry, Four Legged Friend and the Toe That Almost Broke

After my son’s football practice today, we’ll be heading out on our annual family vacation to Virginia Beach. But before we can go out of town I had to take one of my babies to Camp Bow Wow.

Diva, is the newest member of our family. She’s a Powder Puff Chinese Crested and is about 5 months old now. She’s about 5 pounds and mostly hair! She’s the sweetest little hairy baby any family could ask for. She even tolerates our three cats and is best friends with our 9 month old baby girl.

Here she is enjoying the luxury of the couch…can you say spoiled much?

It’s my first time leaving her and I know she thinks that I’ve abandoned her. But, she’ll get to play with other dogs of similar size, get to splash in baby pools and play outside in a secure area all day. She’ll probably not want to come home on Wednesday.

Isn’t it amazing how quickly we can fall in love with an animal? Diva is definitely a part of our family now.

So about the toe. Let me first say that I’m quite possibly the most clumsy person EVER. So this morning as I went to open the door at Camp Bow Wow I opened the door on my foot. I was so concerned with not hitting Diva’s cage on the way in that I nearly broke my own toe. What was worse was trying to keep a straight face as I walked in, because what I really wanted to do was cry. I don’t think it’s broken, but it’s definitely not pretty. Should make running interesting this week.

Ouch!

1 more hour until Dylan finishes football practice and then we’re off! Running scheduled for Sunday and Tuesday while we’re gone. This will be my first time running on roads so stay tuned for what’s sure to be some interesting posts.
